Zoya Akhtar Responds To Kangana Ranaut’s Claim That Bollywood Doesn’t Support Her

Kangana Ranaut’s latest release Manikarnika did a good business at the box office. But the movie has been mired in controversies due to various reasons. Since the release of the movie, Kangana has been making several controversial statements one after the other. She lashed out at Bollywood saying that no one supports her in Bollywood. She also slammed Alia Bhatt and called her Karan Johar’s puppet.

 

On being asked about Kangana’s accusations against some top B-Town stars and Bollywood in general, Zoya Akhtar slammed Queen actress saying that she doesn’t understand her accusations, as everyone appreciates her work.

Zoya said to the leading entertainment portal, “Of course people appreciate her work…I don’t understand her accusations, I’m sorry.”

Earlier Kangana has slammed top Bollywood stars in an interview with the same portal, where she said,

“In 2014, I don’t think all the accolades were for me, it was for Phantom who was coming up and there were having screenings after screenings for people of Vikas and Anurag Kashyap. They had a lot of friends, so they used to come. I have always been absolutely ignored. After Tanu Weds Manu also I have had so many trials, they would just not come. But when it comes to them, they call me shamelessly, I even sort of cancel my shoots and make sure I attend them. Now, I have stopped because it’s getting too much.”

On the work front, Zoya Akhtar directorial Gully Boy featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles released today. The movie has been getting positive reviews from critics and fans alike.
