I wouldn’t have done ‘Katti Batti’ had it not been for Salman’s call: Kangana Ranaut
Famous for doing women-centric roles, actor Kangana Ranaut seems to have found a new friend in Bollywood whom she trust blindly, it’s none other than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor, superstar Salman Khan.
The actor, who is at present promoting her upcoming film Katti Batti in Mumbai, has said she would not have signed the film had it not been for Salman Khan’s call. The film stars Imran Khan as the male protagonist.
The Queen actor said, “After Queen, I was flooded with women-centric scripts and naturally my interest would have been in movies wherein my role has importance. I wouldn’t have given a thought to ‘Katti Batti’. I trust Salman and his instincts so when he called up and insisted me on at least hearing the story, I had to give it a try. When I did hear the story, I didn’t take even a second to say yes. It’s an amazing script.”
Talking about her character Payal in the film, the actor clarified she is not like Tanu from Tanu Weds Manu franchise. “Nobody is like Tanuja Trivedi in this whole world. Payal’s is a different character, her life is not that exciting as Tanuja’s. But yes, she is one of those people who I identify with.”
While addressing the media, the 28 year-old actor remembered her first shot for Gangster. She said that she believes Katti Batti is a fashion-forward movie. The Nikhil Advani directed upcoming romantic-comedy is scheduled to hit the big screen on September 28.
