“Will Continue To Support #MeToo”: Nandita Das Over Allegations On Father

The #MeToo Movement is at its full pace in Bollywood with newer stories and incidents involving names of Big Personalities in Bollywood coming out! The torch bearer of the movement, Tanushree Dutta laid a foundation so strong that all women have now been empowered to come out and reveal their stories to the world without any shame or fear! With shocking revelations coming out including names like Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Sajid Khan and a lot many more being accused of sexual harassment, Nisha Bora has just accused artist Jatin Das of sexual harassment! On these allegations put up on father Jatin Das, here’s what Nandita Das has to say!

“I have maintained from the very start that this is the time we all need to listen, so that women (and men) feel safe to speak up. At the same time, it is also important to be sure about allegations so as not to dilute the movement”, added Nandita Das.

“I do believe truth will prevail. And that is all I have to say on this matter,” she concluded.

Nisha Bora’s tweet read, “I visited Jatin in his studio, which was in Khidki village… The next thing I knew, he attempted to grab me. I wriggled out of his embrace, flustered. Then he did it again. This time, he managed a clumsy kiss on my lips. I recall the feeling of his beard on my skin. I pushed him away, and moved away from him. At that moment he said, ‘Come on, it would be nice.’ Or something like that… I worked myself into a hole believing that talking about it would make trouble… I felt that somehow I landed myself into this spot and that it was my problem to deal with. I felt guilty and ashamed”

Talking about the matter, Jatin Das said, “This is horrifying. What else can I say? It’s cheap. If you meet, you meet hundreds of people and (when) somebody makes an allegation like this, it’s very cheap. One may not recollect the name or face, but one doesn’t stoop down to this level.”
