WEEKEND BOX OFFICE COLLECTION: Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Karwaan’ Leaves Behind ‘Mulk’ and ‘Fanney Khan’

Last Friday i.e on 3rd August, three big films hit the screens-Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Karwaan’, Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Mulk’ and ‘Fanney Khan’ starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Rajkummar Rao. The irony is that all the three movies have mega star cast and despite this, they failed to do a good business at the box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the collection. He wrote: “Terrible terrible terrible Friday… New Hindi films open to shockingly low numbers.”

Here’s the tweet.

On the second day, Karwaan raked in a good amount leaving behind Fanney Khan and Mulk. The road trip drama collected Rs 5 crore on day 2. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest box office figures of Karwaan with a tweet that read, “#Karwaan witnessed an upward trend on Sat and Sun, after a low Fri… Sustaining on weekdays important… Fri 1.60 cr, Sat 2.80 cr, Sun 3.70 cr. Total: 8.10 cr. India biz.”

Karwaan is the Bollywood debut of Mithila Palkar and Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan.  It was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore and in the coming days, it is expected to cross Rs 10 crore. We have seen many Hollywood movies on road trips but Bollywood is new in this genre and it is doing quite well. We hope to see more films in this genre in the future. The movie turned out to be a big surprise and it has received positive responses from the audiences.
