From Watchman To KXIP Call For Rs. 20 Lakh, Journey Of Manzoor Dar Is Truly Inspiring

Indian Premier League has started this Saturday with a bang. IPL is inarguably the most entertaining and popular cricket tournament in the world. Amidst all the glamour and buzz, it also proves life-changing events for some. There have been several cricketers, who got reorganization by playing in IPL and went on to play for their national team.

IPL is one platform, which offers a platform for the young cricketers to showcase their talents. Several players got reorganization from IPL and went to earn huge money. Today, we are going to talk about one of the players, whose life completely changed due to IPL.

The cricketer’s name is Manzoor Dar, who is a 24-year-old player from Jammu and Kashmir. He is also the only player from J&K playing in the IPL 2018. He was bought by Preity Zinta owned KXIP for Rs. 20 Lakh.

However, very litter is known about Manzoor Dar. He is eldest among eight siblings, who had to take responsibility for his family and play the games. According to his interview with a leading daily HT, he even works as a watchman to take care of his family.

Talking about the same, he said,

Along with concentrating on my game, I had to also work hard to look after my family amid challenging circumstances. I had to leave my studies midway and support my father.”

He is so passionate about the cricket that he once removed all the snow from the field, just because he was looking to take revenge for his team’s defeat in the last match. Recalling the incident, he said,

“I was pained by the loss and wanted to make up for it in the next match.”

Manzoor Dar has faced lots of trouble in order to achieve what he has today. Once upon a time, he didn’t have shoes for one of the matches. Talking about the same, he revealed,

“I did not have a pair of shoes. I couldn’t afford. I could have borrowed a pair from my teammates, but my feet are so large.”

He belongs to a poor family, who has to go through a lot. Talking about the problems his family has faced, he added,

“My family has faced lot of difficulties. At times we had to sleep without proper food. I am telling you just 10% of the difficulties we have faced. At one point, we couldn’t afford pen for my sisters.”

In addition to playing cricket, Manzoor has also appeared in 12th examination this year. He is pretty confident that he’ll get a good result.

M.S. Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot is his favourite shot. Talking about the same, he further added,

“I’ve been practicing it for two years. Inshallah, you will get to see it soon.”

We hope he gets all the glory he deserves in the latest edition of IPL.
