Watch Sonu Nigam singing Mahabharat title song live in year 1989
Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has shared an old video which has him singing the title track of epic Indian television show ‘Mahabharat’ directed by BR Chopra.
The video is from the Aadharshila Award Function held in the year 1989 at Indore’s Talkatora stadium. Event marked presence of lead cast of Mahabharat including the most popular one of Bhishma Pitamah, played by Mukesh Khanna.
Video has little yet sweet 16-year-old Sonu Nigam, singing Mahabharat’s title track. His voice was as powerful and beautiful then as it is now.
Sonu got his Bollywood break in the year 1990 in the film ‘Janam’ but unfortunately, it didn’t hit the theatres. He then got his chance in the year 1992 and since then, there is no looking back for Sonu Nigam.
Mahabharat has been rerun on Doordarshan Bharti channel due to the ongoing lockdown amid the Covid 19 pandemic. It remained the second most TRP grosser after Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan.
