Virat Kohli Grateful To MS Dhoni For Doing This That Made Him The Star Cricketer He Is Now
On this Monday, India announced the 15-member Squad that will participate in prestigious ICC World Cup 2019. The final World Cup Squad started a huge debate among fans, critics and former cricketers, especially the omission of flamboyant young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu.
Finally, Skipper Virat Kohli has responded to India’s world cup squad in an interview to news channel India Today. He said that he is satisfied with the team and believes that it is the best combination to play in the World Cup. He also added that the team was selected after consulting all the senior players and everyone is happy.
During the interview, Virat opened up about how MS Dhoni supported him and gave him confidence. He added that Mahi had the option to go with other players but he supported him. He further added that he might have taken benefits from the chances he got but Dhoni’s support was very important for him.
Virat said that Dhoni gave him a chance to bat at number 3, which was a big thing because not lots of young cricketer gets a chance to bat at that position.
Virat also lauded Dhoni saying that he knows inside-out of the game and there is no one who could read the game better than him. He also added that he consults Dhoni and Rohit Sharma before making any strategy.
