Vidya Balan recalls this Math trick on the sets of ‘Shakuntala Devi’
In a bid to grab perfection while playing famous mathematician Shakuntala Devi, Bollywood actress Vidya Balan had recalled a maths trick from school while shooting for it.
She revealed, “Growing up, math was one of my favourite subjects. I would always look out for interesting ways to learn difficult theories. I still remember my mum would teach us tables in a sing-song fashion.”
Talking about how the old trick helped her, the ‘Parineeta’ debutant said, “So when I arrived on the sets of ‘Shakuntala Devi’, I revisited the method. I never thought that those fun ways would come in handy today, in helping me prepare for the movie.”
As evident from the trailer, Vidya has recited huge numbers in the film. Her trick definitely must have helped her a lot!
Director Anu Menon has based the biographical drama on the life of Shakuntala Devi, who was nicknamed ‘the human-computer’, owing to her exceptional mental mathematics skills, without any mechanical aid.
The film will also include Amit Sadh, Sanya Malhotra and Jishu Sengupta in other important roles.
‘Shakuntala Devi’ was meant to release on theatres but will stream on Amazon Prime Video from July 31 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
