‘Veere Di Wedding’ enters 100 crore club with global box office collection

The Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania starrer Veere Di Wedding that had hit the Box Office with a Bang and started making records right in its first week has now entered the prestigious 100 crore club! The movie made huge collection of Rs. 10.70 Crores on Day 1 and has proudly become the Third Highest Opener of the year 2018 after Baaghi 2 which had earned Rs 25.10 crore and Ranveer Singh’s Padmaavat which had minted Rs 19 crore.

The earnings by the end of the first weekend for Veere Di Wedding were almost Rs. 50 crore and now it has set a milestone with Rs. 100 crore collected globally on the 13th day of its successful run! The movie is on its full fledge, with shows of Parmanu and Bhavesh Joshi Super Hero being cancelled for scheduling Veere Di Wedding shows!

On the domestic front, the movie has collected a little over Rs 75 crore until Day 13 in theatres. The trade analyst Taran Adarsh presented his statistics about Veere Di Wedding Box Office over social media. He wrote, “#VeereDiWedding crosses ₹ 75 cr mark… [Week 2] Fri 3.37 cr, Sat 4.51 cr, Sun 4.84 cr, Mon 2.03 cr, Tue 1.97 cr, Wed 1.85 cr. Total: ₹ 75.53 cr. India biz.”

Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, who are currently in London, celebrated uploading GIFs while Ekta Kapoor took her social media to express her joy over this achievement! Ekta Kapoor wrote, “*Drum rolls*! The Veeres are on a roll and there’s no stopping them!

A close source revealed of talks between Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor on making a sequel of Veere Di Wedding. “Ekta and Rhea were spotted at a hush dinner last night and were seen having a great time. They were also in an intense discussion which has led to speculation on whether a sequel of VDW is on the cards. The two producers may come from different schools of cinema but have always aimed to make films that are distinctive and have been path breakers. With the success of Veere Di Wedding, several from the industry have been encouraging the two women producers to work on a sequel since the concept and the characters of the film were so loved”, said the source.
