Varun Dhawan Apologises For His Nepotism Remark Targeted For Kangana Ranaut At The IIFA 2017

The ‘nepotism’ controversy started way back when Kangana Ranaut was in one of the episodes of Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan Season 5. The actress grilled Karan in the show and accused him of ‘intolerant’ towards outsiders and a ‘flag bearer of nepotism’. Since then the word has grabbed attention.

Recently at the IIFA 2017, actor Varun Dhawan, Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar took a dig at Kangana Ranaut’s statement. Three of them started a debate on nepotism on the stage. Saif Ali Khan said “You are here because of your Papa,” to which Varun Dhawan replied, “And you’re here because of your mummy.” Karan Johar then added, “I am here because of my Papa.” The trio then said in unison: “Nepotism rocks.”

It was targeted to the Queen of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut and after their statement, twitterati started criticising these actors.

Check the tweets below.

After so much of criticisms, Varun Dhawan has now come up with an apology. He took to Twitter and said, “I express my apology and regret… I am extremely sorry if I have offended or hurt anyone with that act.’’

Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan have not yet said anything on this matter but we want these two celebs too ask an apology for their demeaning remark.

Till now Kangana Ranaut has not reacted on the same. What are your thoughts on the story? Do comment in the section below.
