Twitter Slams BJP Spokesperson Sanju Verma’s Comments
A huge chunk of the foot overbridge near the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station in Mumbai collapsed on Thursday evening. Five people lost their lives and 36 were injuried.
Social media had been flooded with condolences, messages of solidarity, support and concern. Some of the Mumbaikars expressed their anger towards infrastructure which failed to provide basic maintenance. People from all fields and sectors, including politicians and celebrities, took to social media platforms to express their condolences.
BJP Mumbai’s Sanju Verma, a chief spokesperson, She called the incident a “natural calamity”. She said, “My heart goes out to the people who are reportedly dead because they did not deserve this.
Twitterati stood against Verma’s comment on the incident. Opinion leaders, influencers to the public at large, social media was abuzz with tweets against Verma’s comments.
The more crassness spokespersons like @Sanju_Verma_ show about this horrific tragedy, the more the BJP will alienate the citizens of Mumbai. This bridge collapse has shocked the city, but more shocking is the buck passing and this kind of shamelessness of the ruling establishment https://t.co/CZSzKWRJRS

Someone please ask BJP spokesperson @Sanju_Verma_ to shut up on @TimesNow She is blaming pedestrians and common citizens for collapse of the bridge in Mumbai. Truly shameless comments. Anchor @navikakumar shut off her mike but she continues her obscene rant.
