The ongoing lockdown in the country has benefited the business of OTT platforms the most. Earlier, the digital streaming giants were majorly limited to exclusive web series and TV shows but now it is attracting the filmmakers too.
Very recently, late actor Irrfan Khan’s ‘Angrezi Medium’ was released on one of the OTT platforms and now the producers of Akshay Kumar’s ambitious project Laxmmi Bomb are in talks to release the film on an OTT platform. Reason is quite obvious as everyone is aware that movie theatres are not going to open anytime soon and even if it does, people for sure will hesitate moving in due to Corona scare.
The news was also coming in that Salman Khan starrer ‘Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai’ might hit the OTT platform. It was reported that Salman Khan’s manager Jordy Patel has quoted a whopping Rs 250crores for releasing the film on OTT platform. A leading entertainment news website, however, quoted him as saying, “I haven’t given any figure. All I said was that we are ready to release Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai on an OTT platform, once the film is complete and once we evaluate the situation. Only then, we’ll take a call.”
He also informed that there are few scenes still to be shot and only then it would be decided where and when to release the film.
Meanwhile, apart from Salman Khan, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff. The film was originally set for Eid 2020 release.
