‘SOORMA’ Day 5 Box Office Collection: Diljit Dosanjh Starrer Rakes In A Decent Amount

Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Soorma’, a biopic on hockey player Sandeep Singh, has been able to make good business in the first three days of its release. The movie released on 13th July and it collected a sum of Rs 3.25 crore on its first day. On Day 2 i.e on Saturday, it saw 45-50% growth and collected Rs 5.05 crore making the total collection to Rs 8.30 crore. Followed by a strong word of mouth, the biopic raked in Rs 5.60 crore on Sunday, taking its first weekend total collection to Rs 13.90 crore. On Monday, the biopic minted Rs 2 crore. So, on the fourth day, the box office collection stands at Rs 15.90 crore. On Tuesday, the movie minted Rs 1.94 crore taking the total collection of the movie to Rs 17.79 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on Twitter, “#Soorma is ROCK-STEADY… Fri 3.20 cr, Sat 5.05 cr, Sun 5.60 cr, Mon 2 cr, Tue 1.94 cr. Total: ₹ 17.79 cr. India biz.”

Soorma released on 1,100 screens across India. It also released in Pakistan, reportedly occupying 80% of the Pakistani screens. The biopic received rave reviews and Diljit’s performance is highly appreciated by critics as well as audiences. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu,  Angad Bedi and Siddharth Shukla in titular roles. ‘Dhadak’ is releasing on 20th July and it may affect the earnings of ‘Soorma’.
