Nandita Das- She has done daring films like ‘Fire’, ‘Earth’, and ‘Bawander’, is a woman of substance. Das is the public face of ‘Dark is Beautiful’, a campaign launched by Women of Worth, a women’s-rights organisation based in Chennai. She is also a philanthropist, and has worked as the project coordinator in ‘Ankur’, a non-governmental organization, working towards the empowerment of women. Das is one woman who truly makes us proud by acing in two fields – social activism and films.
