Popular Punjabi singer turned actor, Diljit Dosanjh is winning lots of hearts in Bollywood, all thanks to his impeccable performances in films like Udta Punjab. He is a big name in Punjabi cinema, however, he is also making his presence felt in Bollywood. He is one of the most popular Punjabi actors with a huge fan following all over the place. One of the reasons why everyone respects him so much is his respect towards the culture and religion. He is also a very soft spoken and straight forwards celebrity.

Diljit is very selective when it comes to signing Bollywood films. Despite getting lots of offers from Bollywood, he has rejected most of them.

Diljit Dosanjh is currently busy in the promotion of his upcoming sports biography film titled Soorma also featuring Taapsee Pannu releasing today. He is playing the title role of popular Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh. It is reported that he didn’t want to take up the role in the beginning due to his lack of skills in hockey. However, later he took up the challenge and signed the movie.

However, fans have always wondered about why Diljit rejects Bollywood offers even if it is offered by his favorite directors. The actor has himself revealed the reason in a recent interview. Talking about the reason, he said,

“I don’t do much films in Bollywood because nothing substantial has been offered to me, I get offers but I feel even if I don’t play this role someone else will, it won’t make a difference. Even now my most favourite directors from Bollywood have offered me films which I cannot do because they want me to do it without turban and that’s not possible. Turban is my identity, it’s my emotion.”

This answer has won our hearts. Our respects towards him have increased multiple folds. He could have given up his turban for the sake of earning big money, but he didn’t. This makes him more special than most of the other actors.
