Theatres to reopen from Oct 15; Kiara's ‘Indoo Ki Jawaani’ will be first to hit screens

India is currently entering Unlock Phase 5 where many restrictions are reported to be relaxed including theatres. Bringing good news for all the cinema lovers, the multiplexes are also set to give you a daily dose of entertainment from October 15, but only at 50% capacity.

As we can now watch movies on big screens nearly after six month, the internet is once again abuzz with the debates over which movie will take up which date at the box office now. Given to the latest reports, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ will be the first Hollywood film while Vijay starrer ‘Master’ will be the first South Indian movie to hit the big screens, Kiara Advani’s next ‘Indoo Ki Jawaani’ is touted to be the first film from Bollywood.

According to a business insider, “Tenet has been ready, and the team of Master was also prepared to release as soon as the news came. So they are locked. Among the Bollywood films, Nikkhil Advani did a smart thing by not selling his next production venture Indoo Ki Jawaani, to any of the online giants. They aren’t bound by contract. They just released a song and a few promos but none of it had a mention of the release. Now, with Unlock 5, the Kiara Advani starrer will be the first major film starring an A-list actor that will release in theatres for sure.”

He further said, “It will also help the other producers test the water in a way. Indoo Ki Jawaani is a small budgeted film that has already recovered its costs. Plus, the 50% occupancy won’t make much of a difference to it, since a film in this space would have found it difficult to have a higher occupancy, even with full 100% capacity. So, Indoo Ki Jawaani has got the best bet for sure. Apart from that, even Jayantilal Gada plans to release their next film titled Flight, which stars newcomers in the cinemas.”

Making Bollywood directorial debut from ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’, Bengali writer-filmmaker Abir Sengupta helmed this quirky entertainer starring Kiara and Aditya. After making the hearts pounce with her performance in ‘Kabir Singh’ opposite Shahid Kapoor, Kiara is all set to flutter her fan’s hearts with her all new avatar in her next, which we could watch on big screen once the multiplexes open.
