The Bharatiya Janata Party Candidate List For Lok Sabha Election 2019
The party on Sunday announced its list of 123 candidates for the Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and 54 candidates for the Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections. The two states will go to polls with the general elections.
The list of candidates was announced, after the BJP’s central election Committee met in Delhi on Saturday. This meeting was presided by party president Amit Shah.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj present in the meeting.
The main contest is between ruling telugu Desam Party led by Chandrababu Naidu and the YSR Congress Party led by Jagan Mohan Reddy. The election is been contesting by the BJP alone in the sounthern state is improving its tally. Party had won nine seats in 2014 polls.
The first list was announced by the BJP for Arunachal Pradesh. The state Legislative assembly has 60 seats.
Party has fielded Chief Minister Pema Khandu from the Mukto constituency in the Tawang district and Finance Minister Chowna Mein from the Chowkham constituency.
Khandu became Chief Minister in 2016 after the resignation of Nabam Tuki of the Congress. He made it to the assembly for the first time by winning a by election on the congress ticket from the Mukto constituency in 2011.
The party has already shortlisted the candidates for the Lok Sabha polls and the names would be released soon.
The BJP Central Election Committee is about to release the list of candidates for seats. 188 seats will go to polls in the first 2 phases on April 11th and 18th.
