Highly popular ABC’s reality show The Bachelorette ended with the three-hour finale in the most controversial way possible. In the finale of the reality show, Becca Kufrin traveled to the Maldives to be with her final two men Blake Horstmann and Garett Yrigoyen.
Garett took the first lead after winning the prestigious first impression rose. However, as the episode progressed Blake did the catching up heading into the finale. He even seemed to be taking lead over Garett. In the meantime, Becca confessed that she has fallen for both the men. Finally, she accepted Garett’s proposal leaving Blake’s heartbroken.
After Blake nearly finished his entire proposal, she said to him, “You’ve made me know that I can fall in love again, but through all that, because we were so constant, I think I was overlooking other relationships,”
She further added, “There’s just one piece with somebody else that I’m not ready to say goodbye to yet. Quite honestly, I pictured this moment with you standing here the entire time for so long. I think we could be right and we could be partners, but there’s just a better fit for us out there.”
The 28-year-old sale reps from Denver seemed stunned by Becca’s decision for obvious reasons. He said, “I didn’t expect this. I don’t know what to say,” he replied to her. “I don’t think anyone can make you as happy as I can.” While speaking to the camera he broke in tears adding, “I can’t believe this is happening. I have to go through all of this alone afterwards now — I fucking knew it. I did love her, I just thought she loved me back.”
These types of shocking incidents are pretty common in the Bachelorette finale. Soon Becca calmed herself down before the arrival of Garett. The 29-year-old consultant from Reno made his way to the proposal site having no idea of what has just happened. Before going down on his knee, he said, “I love you so much, not just now, but forever. You’re my world,”
Becca Kufrin accepted his proposal and gave him her final rose. Before confessing her love for him, she said, “You reminded me of home and you reminded me of one of the most important men in my life, and that was my dad,”
The final moment also marked the end of The Bachelorette Season 14.
