Shab Actor Ashish Bisht Opens Up On Casting Couch And Nepotism

Onir’s Shab starring Raveena Tandon, Arpita Chatterjee and Ashish Bisht is all set to release on July 14th, 2017. Ashish Bisht is making his debut with this movie and in a recent interview, he has revealed some of the dirty secrets of the industry specially about the casting couch. The budding actor said that he went through casting couch experiences during his struggle period in Mumbai. He said, “When I was struggling work I used to end up going for every audition, and once a producer called me to a shady place and his first question was Are you comfortable in bed?”

He further said, “I often used to get calls from ladies who wanted to talk dirty over the phone and even I got messages from film producers which left me in a fix.’’

Talking about some of the producers Ashish elaborately said, “There are film producers who irritate the hell out of you with their messages. If you don’t reply, they know you have read it, I feel stuck because if I respond what do I write? Even if I dodge the question, they come back to the same topic again.”

Ashish said that these have affected him mentally. He added, “As it is as a struggler, one is spending money on travelling for different auditions and I am short on money and you call me for this.’’

The actor also rubbished all the rumours of compromising with filmmaker Onir for his role. “I know very well what I have done or not done. I don’t need to clarify ‘on compromises’ I feel people will always talk as they need to hunt for gossip. But I respect Onir sir. I never thought I’ll get a project without compromising, but I did.”

The talented star also spoke about nepotism that has been existing since years in Bollywood. To clear his stand he gave an example. He said, “The day Yash Raj Films decided to launch newcomers Anya Singh and Aadar Jain, I also had my media interactions but no one turned up. Everyone went to meet the filmy freshers who have not even signed a film yet.’’

That’s really bold of Ashish Bisht to open up about nepotism and casting couch. We are now eagerly waiting for his performance in the movie Shab.
