Happy New Year had a mind blowing start at the box office and it seemed that the movie would become the first film to cross 300 crores after the historic 44.97 crores it collected on Day 1. But ever since the movie has really slowed down and now after five days the movie is 11 crores behind Dhoom 3’s 5 day total. The movie collected 13 crores on Tuesday, taking its total in 5 days to be 136.87 crores. Dhoom 3 already had collected 149.25 crores in the same number of days.
Let us see if the condition of the film improves, otherwise it seems it would get to 200 crore in 10 days and then end its lifetime just ahead of Chennai Express. Here is the daily box office breakdown for Happy New Year:
