Swiss Government Immortalised Filmmaker Yash Chopra With Special Statue

Bollywood Legend Filmmaker Late Yash Chopra statue has been unveiled by the Switzerland Government for his contribution to the Cinema. He has been immortalised now in a form of a statue in Switzerland, which will forever remind the fans for his incredible work done.

Yash Chopra has started his journey in filmdom as a Director with 1959 film ‘Dhool Ka Phool’. Eventually, the film turned out to be a hit which flourished his career with a big boost. Soon after that, he went on to direct an array of films which has a core element of love.

Yash Chopra was a romantic person and he does romance with his movies. His cinematic picturesque locations and embedded soulful romantic songs in the films will tell you about his love. In the latter half of his career, he crossed Indian boundaries and shoots most of his films in foreign locales mainly ‘Switzerland’.

Yash Chopra has a very close bonding with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In his last four films ‘Darr’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Veer-Zaara’, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, Shah Rukh Khan played the main lead role. Yash Chopra died at the age of 80 while shooting for his last film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.

If we talk about Yash Chopra statue, it weighing about 350 kilos made up of only Bronze. His statue will be placed in the hearts of Interlaken town, inside the KURSAAL area, near the Congress Centre in Switzerland.

During the unveiling of the statue, Switzerland Government officials were present along with Late Director’s wife Pamela Chopra and Rani Mukerji. This is not the first time the Swizz Government has been honoured him. In 2011, the government of Interlaken town awarded him the honorary title of “Ambassador of Interlaken”.
