From Donut To Mordor, First Ever Picture of Black Hole Reminds Twitter Of Weirdest Things Possible
The entire world is aware of the massive mysterious spaces named black holes in the galaxy but no one ever had any idea about how it actually looked. After all, we didn’t have any pictures that would support our imaginations up until April 10, 2019.
In what can be called as a historic moment, astronomers finally released first ever direct radio image of a gargantuan black hole at the heart of galaxy M87 on April 10, 2019. The scientists also confirmed that the picture is not exactly of a black hole, as these empty spaces are so dark that it can’t be picturized. They are covered by impenetrable shields of gravity, even light can’t pass through them.

As per a report in The Hindu, the picture revealed is of a shadow of the enormous hole instead of an actual black hole. One can see a bright ring formed as light bends in the intense gravity around the hole.
The hole you see in the picture has been taken by an Event Horizon Telescope and is believed to be 6.5 billion times bigger than the sun. That’s shocking, isn’t it?
