Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Stree’ has got rave reviews from audiences as well as critics. The horror-comedy by Amar Kaushik had a good opening on its first day (31st August) and still going strong at the box office. On day 1 Stree has collected Rs 6.82 crore in the domestic market surpassing all the expectations.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “When numbers do the talking… #Stree surpasses the expectations and estimations and posts a SUPERB number on Day 1… Biz is expected to multiply over the weekend… Fri Rs 6.82 cr. India biz… Hugely positive word of mouth has translated into BO numbers.”

The collection sky-rocketed on Sunday as it collected Rs. 13.57 crore. Taran Adarsh tweeted, “All estimations and calculations go for a toss…Stree wreaks havoc at ticket counters… Multiplexes, single screens, metros, mass circuits – this one has worked across the board… Fri 6.82 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 13.57 cr. Total:Rs. 31.26 cr. India biz.”

Talking about the success of Stree, producer Dinesh Vijan said, “We expected to open well as the entire campaign got a fantastic response and we were confident that the audiences would love the film. But this kind of love and appreciation is overwhelming! This year has been super for the industry and I am elated that Stree could be part of it.”
Other stars in the movie are Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee who have nailed it with their superb performances in the movie.
