Sonu Sood is a dashing actor in Bollywood who is known for his charming macho looks and stylish acting. He has worked in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu films. Sonu is basically a Punjabi belonging to a traditional family based in Moga Punjab. He was born on 30 July 1976 in Moga Punjab. He completed his studies in Sacred Heart School Moga. He pursued his higher studies in engineering from the reputed YCC college in Nagpur. He was also a bright student during his college times. After this he decided to follow a career in acting which was his original passion.
Sonu’s first break in films came with the Tamil movie Kallazhagar in 1999. Although it was a small role, Sonu used this opportunity to climb up the ladder and pursue other projects. He had more roles which was not deserving of his caliber but soon he got roles with more potential in films like Hands Up, Sandhitha Velai and Majuna. The initial years of his career consisted of Tamil and Telugu films only. He got his major break in hindi films with the film Shaheede –e- Azam in 2002. He essayed the role of revolutionary Bhagat Singh which earned him lots of popularity. In the same year he did his first Punjabi film Zindagi Khoobsurat Hain. But though he basically belonged to Punjab, Punjabi industry has not been too welcoming for his talented actor. In the years that followed Sonu did more South Indian films including Malayalam and Kannada too.
Sonu’s career flourished in Hindi with films like Shootout at Wadala, Dabang , R.. Rajkumar, Entertainment, Happy New Year, Kung fu Yoga.
