Sonam Kapoor’s Reaction On Being Compared To Aishwarya Rai Bachchan And Deepika Padukone At Cannes 2017

There has been a buzz about Sonam Kapoor’s oh-so amazing appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. Also, another buzz is about Sonam being compared to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. The Neerja actress has been walking the Cannes red carpet for the past 6 years. The foreign media also addressed Sonam as Deepika Padukone. Also Read: Sonam Kapoor Introduces Her Boyfriend Anand Ahuja To This Actress Desi girl Priyanka Chopra wasn’t happy with the fact that Hollywood addressed Sonam as Deepika, and so she lashed the Hollywood media. Sonam was even compared to the brand ambassador of L’Oréal Paris Aishwarya Rai and now it’s the Padmavati actress and Deepika Padukone the new entrant in the L’Oréal Paris. Well, according to Sonam this comparison is foolish. She said, “The comparisons are not in my head, it is what the media is doing. So, they have to decide whether it is fair or unfair because they are the ones pitting one woman against the other whereas they should be celebrating all of them. That’s not me, it is on somebody else, I don’t consider this culture, I consider this foolishness. I don’t even indulge in it”. Not only this, she even liked how Deepika was dressed up at Cannes and said, “I think she looked amazing in all her appearances! She seems to be having a lot of fun and she is being herself. She is looking amazing!”. Cannes is actually an amazing platform where filmmakers showcase their films. But we can see that now it has become more popular for clothes; we’re more interested to know who is wearing what rather than their films! Veteran actress Shabana Azmi also shared a throwback picture of her and actress Smita Patil of the year 1976, to show us how Cannes used to be more focused on the films and not the clothes. She said, “In Cannes 1976 for Nishant in official section. The simplicity of it all. Film was important not the clothes!” Sonam disagreed to the comment made by Shabana on Twitter and said, “No, I don’t think so. It is a film festival and everybody walks for their films, but I am here representing L’Oreal Paris which happens to be a make-up brand. If I was walking here for a film, I would be dressing up very differently, but since I am here walking for a make-up and glam brand, it makes sense to wear make-up and have fun, look beautiful.” What are your thoughts on this?
