Sonam Kapoor Support Swara Bhasker’s Padmaavat Open letter!
After watching Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, Swara Bhaskar wrote an open letter where Swara mentioned, “That’s what I felt like at the end of your magnum opus. I felt like a vagina. I felt reduced to a vagina-only,” in the letter. Her statement didn’t went well with many and overnight it became the subject to troll her and judge her harshly.
Reports states that Sonam Kapoor and Swara share a warm bond. Also they are collaborating for the upcoming film- Veere Di Wedding. Two last shared screen space in Salman Khan’s Prem ratan Dhan Payo. While interacting with online portal, Soanm Kapoor came in support of Swara’s open letter to Sajay Leela Bhanali and said that one should not be judged as everyone have a right to voice their opinion and so does Swara.
Sonam said to an online portal, “Since I haven’t seen Padmaavat, I cannot comment on the specifics but I support Swara and her right to say what she feels. She’s a very courageous woman and in our industry, it takes courage to say the kind of things she has said. I am sure Shahid, Deepika and Sanjay Sir, who gave me my launch, went into the project thinking they are making art and they’ve their own perspective but so does Swara.”
Post this open letter, whenever Swara interacted wit media she kept saying politely that she wrote what she felt without any malice. She said, “Everyone has the right to critique and express their opinion. Like me, others also have the right to express their thoughts. I made a point, I said what I felt.I think I kept my point across in a very polite and respectful manner. I didn’t have any bad intention or malice in my heart,” at a media interaction.
