8 Bollywood Actors Who Were Originally Signed Up To Play Some Other Role in Their Own Films

1. Madhuri Dixit- Dil Toh Pagal HaiInitially Madhuri Dixit was offered to play Pooja in Dil Toh Pagal Hai but ended up playing Nisha in the film.

2. Deepika Padukone- Cocktail Makers of Cocktail offered both the roles- Veronica and Meera to Deepika Padukone. It was Deepika’s decision to play Veronica. Later on Meera’s role was passed to Diana Penty.

3. Sonu Sood- DabanggFor Dabangg, Sonu Sood was initially offered to play Chulbul Pandey but when makers signed Salman Khan to play Chulbul in the film,  Sonu ended up playing Chedi Singh.

4. Akshay khanna- Dil Chahta HaiInitially makers wanted to sign in wanted Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna in the three main roles but Abhishek and Hrthik was not available at that moment. Farhan Akhtar offered the role of ‘Akash’ to Akshaye Khanna but when Aamir was roped in, he wanted to play Akash. That is how Akshay agreed to play Sid in the film.

5. Sunny Deol- DarrMakers of Darr ofered both the role to Sunny and asked him to chose any of it. Sunny chose to play hero in the film and late on Shah Rukh Khan was signed in to play villain. Even today, Darr is considered as one of the top films of SRK.

6. Abhishek Bachchan- BluffmasterInitially ABhishek Bachchan was suppose to play Ritesh’s role in the film but later on he went up on playing lead in the film.

7. Sania Malhotra- DangalSania Malhotra auditioned for Geeta and Babita both and makers zeroed on her to play Babita in the film.

8. Sanjay Dutt-Munnabhai MBBSInitially Sanjay Dutt was signed up by Rajkumar Hirani to play the role of Zhaheer in Munna Bhai MBBS and lead was supposed to play by Shah Rukh Khan. Due to date issue, the role went to Sanjay Dutt and Jimmy played Zhaheer in the film.
