**Shraddha Kapoor on Shakti Kapoor’s Struggles how he used to dress up like the character and went to the director .: “He Made It From Scratch.

 

Shraddha Kapoor, known for her versatile performances, recently opened up about her father, veteran actor Shakti Kapoor’s struggles in the film industry. While Shraddha has carved out a successful career in Bollywood, she remains deeply grateful to her father for the values and opportunities he instilled in her.

Speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2024, Shraddha Kapoor shared the story of how Shakti Kapoor fought his way to stardom without any film background. She revealed that when he first came to Mumbai from Delhi, he faced numerous challenges in trying to break into the industry. To land roles, Shakti would go to directors’ homes, dressed in the character he wanted to play, to convince them to cast him. Despite being turned away by security guards, his determination often paid off. “That’s how he got cast,” Shraddha said, expressing admiration for his perseverance.

The *Stree 2* actress emphasized how stories of her father’s early struggles motivate her to stay grounded and appreciative of the opportunities she’s received. She also mentioned that hearing people praise her father always fills her with pride.

Shraddha recounted her father’s humble beginnings, explaining how he didn’t come from a film family. “He came from Delhi, and I spent much of my childhood there,” she recalled. Shakti Kapoor’s father owned a clothing shop, and his family initially wanted him to work in a travel agency. However, driven by his passion for acting, Shakti enrolled in an acting school and pursued his dream against all odds.

Even now, Shakti Kapoor takes a keen interest in Shraddha’s career, frequently checking on her shoots and offering advice. She consults him before taking on new projects and holds immense respect for his journey. “He’s someone who made it from scratch,” Shraddha concluded, noting how her father’s story continues to inspire her.
