Shooting for TV shows may begin by June end as FWICE issues fresh guidelines

The Federations of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), on Thursday, has released a new set of guidelines related to the shootings of TV shows. It said that shootings may begin by June-end only if the makers adhere to the mentioned conditions.

Floating the fresh guidelines, the FWICE President BN Tiwari said, “Only after the producers follow these guidelines, they will be allowed to shoot.”

Below are few points mentioned in the FWICE Norms:

– The sets will have rotational shifts comprising of only 50% staff at a time. This will help in creating jobs for all.

– Every person present on the set will have to wear a mask and a pair of gloves.

– A police officer will be present on location to ensure these guidelines are strictly being followed.

– The producers and channel will also have to compensate the families of workers that lose their lives to COVID-19 with a minimum amount of Rs. 50 lakh.

– In case of accidental death, the compensation is of Rs. 30-Rs. 40 lakh.

Sources say that shooting of shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, Ekta Kapoor Shows and few others might begin by end of this month.

The television business has been severely hit as shootings of the show are on a halt from March 18 due to COVID 19 pandemic. The daily wage workers have been hit the most and even few actors, who recently entered the industry are also facing the financial crunch.
