SHOCKING! Ranveer Singh UPSETS With Shahid Kapoor, This Is Why
Amid huge outrage and protests, Padmaavat got released on 25th January 2018. The movie is doing wonders at the box office. People are praising the film for extraordinary visuals and powerful performance by the lead actors. However, everything doesn’t seem ok between Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, who played Alauddin Khilji and Maharawal Ratan Singh respectively in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus.
Recently, Shahid Kapoor had commented that he would have played Alauddin Khilji differently than Ranveer Singh. This statement has not gone down well with industry insiders. According to the reports of Deccan Chronicle, the insiders are pretty miffed with Shahid and also said that he was very insecure throughout the filming of Padmaavat.
Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh’s war has now come out in open. It all started when Ranveer Singh had said that he would have played Shahid’s role in Kaminey better than him. This miffed Shahid Kapoor and he said that he would have played Ranveer’s Khilji “differently”.
A source was quoted saying, “Of course, Shahid would have played it differently. Every actor brings his own skills into every character. That is why you can’t compare Dilip Kumar’s Devdas with Shahrukh Khan’s Devdas.”
The source close to Padmaavat said that Shahid Kapoor was totally insecure by Ranveer Singh throughout the making of Padmaavat. The source added, “He had reservations about Ranveer playing the author-backed role, but Sanjay Leela Bhansali convinced him.”
To uninitiated, Shahid Kapoor said, “Which actor would not wish to play a character like Khilji in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film? You know, once on ‘Koffee with Karan’, Ranveer said he would have done my role in Kaminey better than me… I would have done Khilji differently”
When asked how he would have approached the role, he said, “Firstly, I do not want to get into those details. Always remember, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the hero of all his films and we actors come second. So whether it is the loud and larger than life character of Khilji or the subtleness of Ratan Singh, everything was governed by Sanjay Sir. So, this is his vision of his.”
He further said,
“What I just said about performing differently, is because we are two different actors and our style of acting is different”
