Shiv Sena THREATENS ‘Raees’ Makers!
Earlier, when Shah Rukh Khan met MNS chief Raj Thackeray to clarify that Pakistani actress Mahira Khan wouldn’t be appearing for Raees’s promotion, the party had promised him to cause no trouble.
MNS general secretary, Shalini Thackeray had said, “Shah Rukh Khan came to meet Raj Thackeray without any mediation from our side. There has been no threat issued from our side despite rumours.”
However, it seems, at least in India, one cannot please just one party and get away with it.
The controversy around Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is still fresh in our minds. Thackeray had issued a statement saying that this party won’t let the movie release because it starred Fawad Khan, a Pakistani actor.
However, Thackeray had withdrawn the statement after Johar agreed to deposit Rs 5 crore in the Army Welfare Scheme.
SRK, meanwhile, has had a sour relationship with the Shiv Sena. Years ago, the actor took a strong stand after facing the wrath of Shiv Sena during the release of his movie, ‘My Name is Khan’.
Sena leaders also wanted SRK to apologise after he had stated that there was no harm in including Pakistani cricketers in the IPL. SRK had then refused.
But given the times we are living in, we only have to wait and watch how the actor and film makers react to this threat of the party, yet again.
