Shaktimaan Actor Mukesh Khaana said Ranveer Singh convinced him for 3 hours to be casted as the new Shaktimaan. He said….
A few months ago, Mukesh Khanna, the original Shaktimaan, released a video criticizing Ranveer Singh amid rumors of his casting as the iconic superhero. Soon after, Ranveer visited Mukesh at his office, and the veteran actor was seen praising Ranveer’s talent. However, Khanna clarified that this did not mean Ranveer would be playing Shaktimaan in the upcoming trilogy.
In a recent interview, Mukesh Khanna revealed that Ranveer spent three hours trying to convince him to take on the role but ultimately faced rejection. Khanna explained to Bollywood Thikana, “Ranveer Singh tried hard to convince me to allow him to reprise the role, but I didn’t see what I needed in his face for Shaktimaan. He has a playful look, not suitable for the character.”
When asked about Ranveer’s ability to excel in serious roles, Khanna acknowledged his acting talent but remained firm that Ranveer wasn’t the right fit for the superhero.
Khanna also discussed Ranveer’s controversial nude photoshoot, stating that the actor claimed he was actually wearing underwear during the shoot. Despite Ranveer’s explanation, Khanna felt uneasy, recalling Ranveer’s earlier media statements where he expressed comfort with the shoot, adding, “You may be comfortable, but we aren’t.”
Mukesh Khanna shared, “The photoshoot marked the beginning of my aversion towards Ranveer. He told me he wore underwear and fired his promotional team. I believed him, but later remembered his media statement saying he was comfortable with it. I had said, ‘You may be comfortable, but we aren’t.'”
Sony Pictures announced a *Shaktimaan* trilogy last year, with Ranveer Singh reportedly cast in the lead role under director Basil Joseph, though no official confirmation has been made. The original *Shaktimaan* series aired from 1997 to 2005, with Khanna playing the iconic superhero and his alter ego.
