Support system
Being one of the four sisters of supportive parents helped a lot. “My sister Kriti is a manager, while Mukti has also participated in several dance reality shows, including Nach Baliye. As for Neeti, she is a playback singer, having rendered songs like Ishq Wala Love.” She laughs, “Our house is like a girls hostel and our mother, a warden.”
Personally speaking, five years back, “An opportunity to participate in Dance India Dance itself sounded like a blessing. Winning it was incredible. I never thought my journey would last this long and I’d make a living out of dance. But even parents believe it is possible,” shares the girl, whose academic background quotes institutions like BITS Pilani and Miranda House.
“I was going to prepare for IAS till Terrence saw me perform at a college function and asked me to give it a thought. I have never looked back since.” The journey is still on. “Something is in pipeline. I would definitely do a dance related movie, anything else I’m not really interested in.” We thought as much.
