Shah Rukh Khan ‘s Threat Case: Mumbai police captures the accuse.

Mumbai police arrested Mohammad Faizan Khan, a lawyer, in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for allegedly threatening Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Faizan reportedly demanded Rs 50 lakh from Khan in a phone call in October. Later, Faizan claimed he lost the phone used to make the call, reporting it missing to the police on November 2.

Initially, Faizan said he would travel to Mumbai to give his statement to the Bandra police. However, he then requested a virtual statement, citing recent threats to his safety. After he missed multiple summons, Mumbai police, in collaboration with Raipur authorities, arrested him at his home. A Raipur police official confirmed his arrest, adding that Faizan would be presented before a local court. Mumbai police plan to seek his transit remand to bring him to Mumbai for further questioning.

Was there any previous relation?

Faizan had previously lodged a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan, accusing him of promoting religious hostility. He referenced a scene from Khan’s 1993 film *Anjaam*, in which the actor’s character kills a deer and orders it to be cooked. Faizan, originally from Rajasthan, said the scene deeply offended him, as his friends in the Bishnoi community, known for protecting deer, found the portrayal disrespectful. He argued that such scenes, especially when involving a Muslim character, are highly objectionable and insensitive to cultural and religious values.

Authorities charged Faizan under Sections 308(4) and 351(3)(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for extortion with threats of death or severe harm and for criminal intimidation. Police also noted that Faizan’s complaint against Khan at the Bandra police station was being investigated separately. The arrest has drawn attention due to the high-profile nature of the case, highlighting issues surrounding celebrity safety and the handling of personal threats.

The legal proceedings continue as police examine Faizan’s claims and actions.
