Shraddha Kapoor took to Twiter to release the first poster of her upcoming film Haseena, and she looks nothing like the fun, bubbly girl that we are used to seeing. Shraddha looks gritty and bold as Haseena Parkar, the late sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who rose to power in the world of crime after her husband Ismail Parkar was shot dead by the Arun Gawli gang in 1991.

Shraddha’s brother Siddhanth Kapoor will also play her reel-life brother, Dawood. Shraddha was quoted saying, “I’m really excited for Haseena because I’ll be working with my brother. It is the first time I think a real brother and sister are playing real brother and sister on screen too.”
Talking about the film, Shraddha had said, “I was scared when Haseena came my way. I got even more scared ‘Should I do it?’ I have to play a character from the range of 15 to 45 years. There will be a significant amount of change on the way I look. That made me feel even excited at the same time,” adding, “Haseena as a film will be different because it is the first time I’m playing a grey character.”
With her last two ventures, ‘Rock On 2’ and ‘OK Jaanu’ having bombed at the box office, ‘Haseena’ could be Shraddha’s much needed redemption with the collections. Her subtle performance and burning chemistry with Aditya Roy Kapur in ‘Aashiqui 2’ brought her into the limelight. She made her debut with juvenile chick-flick ‘Luv Ka The End’.
‘Haseena’, helmed by director Apoorva Lakhia is set to release on the 14th of July, 2017 and also marks the Bollywood debut of Shraddha’s brother and Shakti Kapoor’s son, Siddhanth Kapoor, who also shared the poster of the upcoming movie on his Instagram profile. We’re definitely looking forward to this one! ‘Haseena’ is a character like no other in Shraddha’s filmography.
