On 15th August the two mega movies ‘Gold’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate’ hit the screens and both the movies earned a good amount on its first day as it was a national holiday. But the numbers dropped on Friday i.e on the second day. Both the movies made a total collection of Rs 45.77 crores on day 1 but on the second day, the collection was 16 crores for both the films.
Here’s ‘Gold’ collection shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh
The first-day collection of Gold was 25.25 crore and on the 2nd day, the numbers dropped to 8 crores. So, the 2nd day total is just 33.25 crores.

On the first day, ‘Satyamev Jayate minted 20.52 crores, while on the 2nd day the figures dropped to 7.92 crores. The total is 28.44 crores.

‘Gold’ is in the third position in the list of the biggest openings of 2018, after ‘Sanju’ and ‘Race 3’. ‘Satyameva Jayate’ is in the fifth leaving behind ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ and ‘PadMan’. If the second-day box office collections of Gold and Satyamev Jayate are combined then it comes around 61.69 crore.
Directed by Reema Kagti, Gold stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Mouni Roy and Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles. Satyamev Jayate has Manoj Vajpayee, Aisha Sharma along with John Abraham.
