Abhishek Bachchan is back with All Is Well after three 100 crore Hits – His 10 biggest Hits so far

This Friday, after delivering three back to back 100 crore films in a multi-hero set up [Happy New Year, Dhoom 3, Bol Bachchan], Abhishek Bachchan is returning as a solo lead in All Is Well. This is quite some journey for Abhishek who made his debut with Refugee 15 years back. In an unconventional role, he did manage to fetch attention and even though the film was just a decent runner, the actor was in for a long run. He did have quite a few flops to begin with and a few memorable roles in between (Yuva, Bluffmaster). However, big ticket films started coming his way a few years down the line. Let's take a look. Dhoom 3 - 284 crore The film is his biggest success story till date. As a matter of fact, his last three films have all been 100 crore affairs and have done a collective business of close to 600 crore! Carrying forward his cop act in the latest Dhoom affair, he continued to be an integral part of the franchise. Yes, Aamir Khan's double role act was the highlight of the film but a Blockbuster doesn't harm, and Abhishek did gain one to his name. Happy New Year - 205 crore A true multi-starrer affair, Happy New Year had a good role reserved for Abhishek Bachchan. This time around, he got an opportunity to play a double role and managed to fetch the attention of kids. Even though he didn't have a heroine opposite him, Abhishek stood his stand and managed to spark in quite a few scenes, despite the presence of Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Bol Bachchan - 103 crore In the title role, Abhishek Bachchan had to reprise the role that was made memorable by Amol Palekar in Golmaal. This time around too, he had a double role to enact and at places, did manage to steal the show. His jig around the interval point was the highlight of the Rohit Shetty film. Yes, this one too was a two hero set up with Ajay Devgn around. However, the film proved to be a start of a fantastic innings. Dhoom 2 - 82 crore Before Bol Bachchan, Abhishek's last major hit was Dhoom 2, which managed to enjoy a record breaking run at the box office. Yet again, the Yash Raj production was a multi-starrer affair with Hritihik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai stepping into the franchise. Together, they managed to create 'dhoom' all over again and the film benefited everyone involved with it. Abhishek stayed on to be an integral part of Dhoom. Dostana - 50 crore A film where Abhishek proved once again that he has an impeccable comic side to him, Dostana was one of its first kind in Bollywood that managed to fetch audience by the dozen. In tandem with John Abraham, Abhishek brought on the gay act with lots of laughter accompanying it and never made the scenes look offensive. Add to that the 'desi girl' act by Priyanka Chopra and the team had a winner in hands. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna - 45 crore Though the film fetched diverse opinions for itself, the fact remains that Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna took one of the hugest opening ever for Abhishek Bachchan. An extra-marital musical drama that was as big a multi-starrer as it gets, it had Abhishek in a key role which allowed him to demonstrate his emotional side. The film did decent in India while in overseas, it was a big success. Guru - 42 crore His biggest solo success till date, Guru made many stand up and take notice of Abhishek Bachchan's superb act. Clearly, his career can be slotted as 'before and after Guru', since it was this Mani Ratnam film that made all the difference to his standing. In a biopic inspired by Dhirubhai Ambani's tale, Abhishek (along with Aishwarya Rai) brought on screen a new facet of his acting skills that hadn't been noticed before. Bunty Aur Babli - 35 crore His first major success where Abhishek literally let his hair down, Bunty Aur Babli was a fun affair that started off on a good note and then went on to grow further from strength to strength. As a loveable crook, he partnered well with Rani Mukherji to keep the audience entertained in this fun affair. Of course the presence of Amitabh Bachchan helped too and Aishwarya's 'Kajraare' act was a rage across the nation. Sarkar Raj - 35 crore While Sarkar was a good success, the film's sequel went on to earn more. Though the film didn't quite win as many accolades as the prequel, it had its steady fan base that loved to pick up the antics of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. In the Ram Gopal Varma film, he had Aishwarya Rai for company as well and though Abhishek's character dies in the end, one waits to see if there would be a Part III as well. Paa - 30 crore In his production Paa, Abhishek Bachchan played an integral part of the R. Balki directed affair that had Amitabh Bachchan playing the central character. In the only instance ever across the world cinema where a man has played his real life father's on-screen father, Abhishek brought in good sensitivity to the part.
