Samsung Brand Ambassador Sued For Rs. 11 Crore After She Used An iPhone X On A TV Show
Brand endorsements are one of the major sources of income for many celebrities. Brands usually sign contracts with top celebrities to promote their brands. According to the contract, these celebrities are required to use only their products at least during the public appearances. They should never be seen using the product of the rival brands. If they are spotted using a rival brand’s product, they get into trouble.
Samsung is currently one of the largest mobile manufactures. Its biggest rival is Apple. However, Samsung brand ambassadors have been seen using Apple’s phone on multiple occasions. Stars like Adam Levine and tennis icon David Ferrer have been caught using iPhones despite being the brand ambassador of Samsung.
Now, it looks like Samsung is in no mood to take these kinds of ignorance anymore. The electronics giant is all set to sue one of its brand ambassadors for using an iPhone on public appearance.
The Russian journalist, TV anchor, actress, and politician, Ksenia Sobchak is the brand ambassador of Samsung in Russia. She was recently caught using iPhone during a live TV show. This incident can’t be confirmed completely, as she tried to hide the Apple logo by using her fingers and a paper. However, Samsung has sued her for Rs. 11.72 Crore ($1.6 million).
According to Samsung, Ksenia has been caught using an iPhone on previous occasions too. The amount she is being sued is much less than what Samsung is paying her for being the brand ambassador of the company. But still, it is beyond our imagination that why any celebrities would do such things, as it is an embarrassment to them as well as the company.
