Salman Khan To Play A DAD In Remo’s D’Souza Next!

After playing a reluctant dad in ‘Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai’, 18 years ago, Salman Khan will play a dad once again. The 51-year-old actor has given a nod to choreographer and director Remo D’Souza’s next, a dance-drama based on the emotional journey of an ageing dancer and his bubbly 13-year-old daughter on her way to achieving success.

Recently, in an interview to a weekly magazine, the actor dropped a hint at the difficult preparation that he will have to undergo for the untitled project which will kick start in 2018. “In my next, I’m playing the father to a 13-year-old girl. It’s a film about dancing. Like the Hollywood ‘Step Up’ franchise. I’m going to be a properly trained dancer. You know how painful that is? But I’ve always believed that effortless hard work should be seen on-screen,” Salman was quoted as saying.

Khan, who shed 18 kgs to play a wrestler in his last release, ‘Sultan’, will have to get a leaner physique to play a dancer next year. “Salman listens to the choreographer, then, goes ahead and does his own steps, so it’s going to be a lot of lessons for him this time,” a source told a tabloid.

Apprently, Remo’s D’Souza met Salman a year ago to discuss the script of his dance-drama but it was kept on hold since the actor had no dates at the time. Remo’s D’Souza then plunged into his superhero flick, ‘A Flying Jatt’ starring Tiger Shroff. Meanwhile, Salman got busy with Kabir Khan’s ‘Tubelight’.

In mid-2017, Salman will kickstart ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, to be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. And in 2018, it will be Remo’s turn. The source revealed that things finally fell into place last month, when the duo met.

On December 27, Remo was also present at Khan’s birthday bash at his Panvel farmhouse. However, Remo refused to divulge any details when the tabloid contacted him, saying, “I cannot share anything at this point of time.”
