Why Is Salman Khan Send To Jail and Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre And Others Are Let Off? Here’s The Reason

It was during the shoot of the movie ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ in 1998 Salman Khan along with his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were accused of poaching blackbucks (endangered species) in Kankani village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The case was running for 20 years and today on 5th April the final verdict has come out. Salman was charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act of the Indian Penal Court. Other actors like Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu also had charges under were charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. As they were charged with unlawful assembly, so they were acquitted. There were no traces of evidence to prove that the other actors were also involved in the poaching case. Salman was the main person who pulled the trigger and the others accompanied him. As per ‘unlawful assembly’, if the court is not able to prove the others involved in the case guilty, then they will get the benefit of doubt. Same happened with the other stars involved in this case.

Talking about Salman Khan, he had a list of cases related to killing Chinkaras. In 1998, on September 27, Salman killed a Chinkara on the border of Bhawad village, Jodhpur. On 28th September, the same year he hunted two Chinkaras near Ghoda Farm, Jodhpur. On October 2, he again hunted two blackbucks. A .32 revolver and .22 rifle were recovered from Salman’s hotel room and a case was registered under the Arms Act. The rifles were seized on 15 October 1998 and his license was already expired on 22 September 1998.In 2006 Salman was convicted of the case but later on, on 25 July 2016, he was acquitted of all the charges by Rajasthan High Court.
