Salman Khan: The only Bollywood actor with eight movies surpassing ₹100 crore in India

Superstar Salman Khan is the most loved and followed superstar in India, anything he does becomes a trend. A movie Dabangg Khan is in, has to be a superhit or blockbuster. Every project of Salman creates some or the other box office records making him what he is today, a favourite superstar of millions. With ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ surpassing ₹100 crore in opening weekend in India, Salman holds this unique record of being the only actor in India whose movies have entered the coveted ₹100 crore club eight times. We bring you the information of the ‘Kick’ actor’s movies entering ₹100 crore club. 1) Dabangg: This was the first time when Salman Khan worked for his brother Arbaaz Khan. The movie proved to be a game changer for Khan Brothers. ‘Dabangg’ was released on September 10, 2010 and collected ₹145 crore at the Indian box office. 2) Ready: After ‘Wanted’, Salman worked in yet another remake of a South Indian movie, Ready. Though there were reports of Salman having a fight with the movie director Anees Bazmee, things got sorted when movie made ₹128 crore in India. ‘Ready’ was released on June 3, 2011. 3) Bodyguard: After brother Arbaaz, it was sister Alvira’s turn to work with Salman. The superstar played Kareena Kapoor’s bodyguard in the movie and it made ₹140 crore at the Indian box office. ‘Bodyguard’ released on August 31, 2011. 4) Ek Tha Tiger: Playing a RAW agent in Kabir Khan directorial proved to be lucky for the superstar as the movie shattered many records going on to become Salman Khan’s highest grossing movie that time. The movie collected ₹198 crore in India. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ was released on August 15, 2015. 5) Dabangg 2: Yet another family movie for Salman Khan, but this time Arbaaz was not just the producer, he directed ‘Dabangg2. Movie proved to be a huge success netting ₹184 in India. Dabangg 2 released on December 21, 2012. 6) Jai Ho: It was time for another family member to sign Salman for his movie, this time it was Sohail Khan. ‘Jai Ho’ didn’t do wonders at the box office, but it easily managed to enter the coveted ₹100 crore club by collecting 112 crore at the Indian box office. ‘Jai Ho’ was released on January 24, 2014. 7) Kick: What happen when Salman’s best friend directs a movie with him? It goes on to become a blockbuster. Sajid Nadiadwala’s debut project collected 223 crore in India, Salman’s first entry in the double century club. Kick was released on July 25, 2014. 8) Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Salman’s most recent release, this movie has already entered the ₹100 crore club in opening weekend and the occupancy on Monday is more than 70% which is extremely good. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ released on July 17, 2015.
