Recalling Struggling Days, Pankaj Tripathi Says, “My Wife And I Survived On Her Income In Mumbai”
Pankaj Tripathi is one of the finest actors in Bollywood, who has established his name with several powerful performances in film and Web Series. His roles in Gangs of Wasseypur, Masaan, Stree and Sacred Games among others are more than enough to tell us about his acting caliber. In the past couple of years, he has become a prominent name with several projects in his kitty. He is being offered several mainstream Bollywood films nowadays.
From his intense roles in web-series Mirzapur and Sacred Games to his amazing comic role in horror-comedy Stree, he does justice to every character he plays. Currently, he is one of the most popular actors in Bollywood films as well as multiple web-series.
His latest outings as a lawyer in Hotstar original Criminal Justice is getting him lots of praise from critics as well as fans. At a recent event, the acclaimed actor talked about his struggling days. He said to News18,
“Today, my wife Mridula and I own our dream house. But I haven’t forgotten my one-room shed with its tin roof in Patna. One night, the rains and wind were so intense that one of the tin sheets blew away and I was left looking at the naked sky,”
Talking about his dream house, Newton actor said, “It was our dream home, a love nest at the seaside. Now I’ve finally bought our dream house in Madh Island. My wife got very emotional after we shifted into our new home,”
Recalling the support of his wife during his struggling days, Pankaj Tripathi said, “My wife Mridula and I survived on her income in Mumbai. She was a qualified school teacher and she got a job in Mumbai while I did what all out-of-town actors in Mumbai do… Struggle. My first major role was in Dharm in 2007 where I got to work with my namesake, the great Pankaj Kapur.”
He further added that his first major role was offered to him by a woman director and women have always played important roles in his career.
On being asked about how he looks back at those struggling days, Pankaj Tripathi added, “It is significant that my first major role came to me from a woman director. Women have always played a very important part in my career,”
