Ranveer Singh says he was hurt by rumours that his father paid Aditya Chopra for his Bollywood debut
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh who made his Bollywood debut under the banner of Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films in 2010’s Band Baaja Baraat was then rumored that his father paid a handsome amount of money to Aditya Chopra to launch Ranveer. In conversation with Famously Filmfare, when the host Jitesh Pillai asked him about that one rumor that he could not shake off, actor opened up about the incident.
Recalling the incident, Ranveer said that, “There were rumours that my father gave Rs 10 lakh to Aditya Chopra, to get me launched. That really hurt me, it brought my whole upbringing into question. How can you write something so false that I had never said? I had genuinely struggled and am proud of what I achieved. Young actors will message me and ask, ‘Yo bro, I can cough up the money, tell me what I have to do.’ And I have to say that these rumours are not true, stop believing that!”
Everyone is aware of the fact that Ranveer Singh has worked to reach where he is today. On work front, Ranveer’s last release ‘Simmba’ has grossed over Rs 350 crore, breaking the box office collection of Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express. He will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ which is scheduled to release on 14th February. The trailer of the film is making noise for all the good reasons.
