Rani Mukherjee Turns Emotional On Sridevi’s Death, Says ‘She Used To Call Me ‘Ladoo’

From public to Bollywood celebrities, everyone was in shock to hear the news of Sridevi’s death. On 23rd February she took her last breath caused due to accidental drowning in the bathtub. Hearing this piece of sad news many Bollywood celebrities arrived at Sridevi’s residence in Versova. Also, actress Rani Mukherjee was spotted along with other celebrities to pay condolences to the actress. On Sridevi Rani said, “It is very tragic, I was very close to Srideviji. In fact, before she left for Dubai she wanted to watch Hichki and I had promised her once she is back from the wedding I would have a screening for her. It’s very sad that the two people who loved me immensely my dad and Sriji are not with me today. They would have been the only people who would have given me an honest feedback about the film. It’s a huge loss for me.”

Though Rani and Sridevi didn’t share the same screen together, both shared a good camaraderie with each other. Sridevi acted in a movie with Rani Mukherjee’s uncle.

Rani further said, “For me, Sriji has been my favorite since childhood. She knew me since childhood, I used to go with my school uniform to watch her on the set. She has worked with my chacha and she had remembered me as a kid. I had connected with her in a different way when I grew up as an actor, she used to immensely love my work and there was a lot of love that I received from her. In fact, she used to call me ‘ladoo’ and I am going to miss her calling me that. The time I got to know about her demise it was the most shocking and tragic thing to hear. I still can’t believe that we are talking about her demise, I feel very surreal, it was very unexpected. It is a huge loss not only for the industry but also for us as a family. From last two years since the time I have had my child, she has been so supportive and inspirational. The kind of love that she has given me and Adira in last two years has been phenomenal. She was an elder sister, a massi, she has been a pillar of support to me in this last two years.”

As per reports, Sridevi’s family has left with the body from Dubai a few hours back and the cremation will be done tomorrow in a traditional way.

On the work front, Rani Mukherjee will be seen in ‘Hichki’ that is releasing on 23rd March 2018.
