Ranbir Kapoor is a popular actor in Bollywood known for films like Rockstar, Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, Wake Up Sid, Ae Dil Hain Mushkil and Rocket Singh Salesman of the year. Ranbir is the son of yesteryear super star Rishi Kapoor and actress Neetu Kapoor. He belongs to the Kapoor family which has it’s four generation in acting and film making business. Although Ranbir has a splendid lineage behind him, the actor is popular solely on the basis of his performances.
Ranbir was born on 28 September 1982 in Mumbai. He has an elder sister named Ridhima who is presently a fashion designer and interior decorator. Ranbir studied in Bombay Scottish school in Mahim and pursued his further studies in film making from New York. Ranbir returned to assist Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Black which was a critical success. Previously Ranbir had helped his father Rishi in direction of the film Aa Ab Laut Chalen in 1999 when he was in tenth standard.
Ranbir got his first ever break in films from the renowned film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself when he was cast in the love story Sawariyaan. Although the film was disappointing, Ranbir sailed through as a potential actor. He was later offered some high potential roles that gave him a progress in his career graph. He became highly popular with his films like Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani, Anjaana Anjaani, Barfi, Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani and many more. He got lot of critical acclaim with the films Rockstar, Barfi and Rocket Singh Salesman of the year.
Ranbir Kapoor experienced a high in the initial four years of his career and was touted as the next superstar. But unfortunately the stardom has not yet transpired to super stardom and the actor gave a series of unsuccessful films later. Ranbir’s latest release was Ae Dil Hain Mushkil which got a lukewarm response.
Ranbir’s personal life was always under the microscope of the media. His relationship with actress Deepika Padukone always made news and so did their break up. He was in a committed relationship with actress Katrina Kaif also provided hot gossips but unfortunately the good looking couple broke up in 2016.
