Raj Dutt, Yash Chopra Receives V Shantaram And Raj Kapoor Awards Respectively
Kolhapur, Apr 30 (UNI) Renowned Marathi film director Rajdutt and Veteran Hindi film producer-director Yash Chopra were today honoured with the V Shantaram and Raj Kapoor awards respectively at the 44th Marathi film awards function at Shivaji stadium here.
The V Shantaram award carries Rs 1.25 lakh cash prize and a momento while the Raj Kapoor award carries Rs one lakh cash prize and a momento. The Marathi film awards function has been held for the first time in Kolhapur to coincide with the 75th anniversary celebration to mark the production of first Marathi talkie ‘Ayodhecha Raja’.
The awards were presented to the duo by Maharashtra Chief Minister R R Patil. Prominently among those present at the function included Co-operation Minister Patangrao Kadam, State Cultural Affairs Minister Ashok Chavan, District Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil and others. Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit was the star attraction at the function. UNI
