Rahul Dravid is also one of the most respected cricketers. He played for India during the time when “God of Cricket” Sachin Tendulkar was in his prime but still made his own mark and stood tall always.

Over the years, Rahul Dravid has lived a very normal life far away from the VIP culture. His humble and kind nature never fails to surprise us. Despite so much fan following, he often comes across as a common man rather than a VIP surrounded by several support staffs. He is one such celebrity who doesn’t mind standing in queues waiting for his turn at public events.

He loves living his life as a common man roaming around like no one is watching. Even after retiring from the cricket for a very long time, he keeps inspiring people teaching them to stay grounded and never forget the roots no matter how popular and loved you are.

There are many fans who have shared their encounter with Rahul Dravid. Each of these stories shows what a gem of a person he is.

He is a doting father who makes it a point to attend the Parent-Teacher meeting of his kids.

Very few people know that Dravid has gone to lengths to fulfill what he thinks is his duties towards his hometown. The best example for the same is the time when he played for his old club in Bangalore once he retired from the sports he loved. He even helped his club win the match by scoring a century. One of the fans who watched the match live narrated the story saying,

“Days after Rahul Dravid’s retirement, he arrived at Bangalore (Dravid’s Home). His childhood club was in a bad situation and needed a victory in order to not get relegated to a lower division. Head coach of the team requested RD to play for them and guess what, he accepted the offer, played the match and the club got the required points to remain in the same division. I am not sure of the exact figure, but RD scored a century. There were just around 15 to 20 spectators on the ground. The venue was HAL sports club. He never made any fuss about playing for a team that is so out of his league, he never dragged media attention, he never complained about anything not just during this game, but in his entire career.”

One time, He video called a cancer patient for an hour through Skype, who was one of his biggest fans. If that was not enough, he even apologized for not able to meet him personally.

Everyone wants to be rich and live a lavish lifestyle, but Rahul Dravid shows how we should live our life.
