Radhika Apte Does What She Believes In, Without Thinking About The Consequences!

The bold and beautiful, Radhika Apte, who is known for her unconventional roles in films like Phobia, Badlapur, Manjhi - The Mountain Man and the thriller short film Ahalya, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, was recently in news for the leaked scene from her film Parched. She says she always does things which she believes in and doesn't worry about the consequences. She thinks that having opinions about social issues is right and she herself has strong opinions regarding the same. Recently, she was seen at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2016, where she walked as the showstopper for designer Saroj Jalan. Talking about being scared of having own opinions regarding social issues, she said, "You get negative comments even if you are not talking. So you can’t be scared of negative comments from people. I can’t have double standards, so I do what I believe in". This shows how firmly the young actress believes in herself. Radhika is known for her roles in both commercial and off-beat films. As an actress, she is inclined more towards exploring and experimenting with the characters she portrays on the silver screen. Talking about it, she said, "I want to explore. I’ve just begun and in an actor’s journey, you have to explore more. So for some of the projects, I had great fun doing them and quite challenging and some of them I did for different reasons. But yes, I hope I get more opportunity to explore." The 30 year old actress further revealed that she is more of a private person and loves being that way. "I don’t like people recognizing me all around the world. I really don’t like that as it’s breach of my privacy," she said. Radhika Apte was quizzed about her leaked love-making scene from the film Parched. She slammed all controversies regarding the leaked scene and said such incidents do not affect her anymore. She even revealed that leak from the film Parched wasn't the first time anything like that was happening to her. The first incident was when a similar scene was leaked from the film Clean Shaven, for which she won the best actress award at the Tribeca Film Festival. She was continuously buzzed regarding the leaked scenes and she was horrified listening to the baseless questions from the media reporters. "I was really shocked and I couldn't believe that people were making it bigger and bigger and they had no sensitivity of any sorts," she said. However, this time, when scenes from the film Parched were leaked, she was informed by a producer. "And he (the producer) sent me the clip with smiley faces, laughing faces. So I pitied him and this time to my surprise I was just not affected at all," she said. She is of the view that the scene wasn't exactly leaked. "That wasn’t leaked by the way. The film has released in many countries abroad and it’s also on the US Netflix,” she said. Radhika expects the "society to grow" and let go of the misogynistic attitude and learn to accept such unconventional films. The bold actress further expressed that being angry was pointless because she is very comfortable with her body. She said, "The more it happens to me I realise that it is making me more and more comfortable in my skin." Being a strong and independent woman that she is, she feels love-making and nude scenes are very much a part of the creative process and said she is comfortable doing bold scenes as long as the script genuinely needs it. The film Parched is produced by Ajay Devgn and Aseem Bajaj, and directed by Leena Yadav. The movie is based on the lives of four ordinary women Rani, played by Tannishtha Chatterjee, Lajjo, played by Radhika Apte, Bijli, played by Surveen Chawla and Janaki, played by Leher Khan in rural Gujarat. The film was even premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Currently, the gorgeous lady is on a break after finishing off with a project at hand.
