The sudden demise of Sridevi left everyone in shock and there were many assumptions related to her death. Director Hansal Mehta was about to approach Sridevi for his next project but unfortunately, it couldn’t happen. Though he didn’t reveal about the film, now he has made an announcement on his next project.
Talking to a news agency, Hansal said, “I will always regret that I could not approach Sridevi and work with her but I would definitely make a film on Sridevi.”
Hansal refused to give much information related to the film. But he said “The film is based on a book. For the role of Sridevi, there is only one name in my mind and that is Vidya Balan. I might approach Vidya Balan for this film.”
After Sridevi’s death, the filmmaker tweeted saying, “There will never be another #Sridevi. I was about to approach her for a film. That film will now be dedicated to her. If it finds an actor.”

Hansal Mehta’s ‘Omerta’ was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2017. It was also screened at the Busan International Film Festival and the Mumbai Film Festival last year. The trailer of the movie released a few days ago and the movie will release on 20th April. It is a real-life story of British terrorist of Pakistani descent Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh played by Rajkummar Rao.
