Piyush Goyal Posts Video Of Train 18 Running At Lightning Speed. Internet Trolls Him Apart

This weekend, railways minister Piyush Goyal tweeted a video of Train 18, or Vande Bharat Express, barrelling through a railway station. According to Goyal, the train was “zooming past at lightning speed”.

The caption that he wrote while sharing the video read, “It’s a bird… It’s a plane… Watch India’s first semi-high speed train built under ‘Make in India’ initiative, Vande Bharat Express zooming past at lightening speed (sic),” Piyush Goyal said in his tweet. In the ‘lightening speed’ that he composed his tweet at, Goyal ended up making a typo too.

Twitter suspected that the video posted by Goyal was doctored to show Train 18, formally known as Vande Bharat Express, running faster than its actual speed.

The Congress party was among the first ones who trolled the railways minister on Twitter.

“The only thing travelling at lightning speed are Mr ‘Ghotala’s’ lies,” the Congress said. Goyal’s tweet also invited flak from other opposition leaders.

The Indian Youth Congress’ (IYC) national campaign in-charge, Srivatsa, said, “Piyush Goyal ji, enough of your Jumlas…You have again proved that all that the Modi government can do is gimmicks.”

Soon after this, netizens started trolling the Railway Minister for increasing the speed of the train while some asked as to what the need of editing was when the train was moving in a good speed itself.
